Student Employment Opportunities
We realize that many students need some means of employment while pursuing their education. Did you know that Residential Living offers more student work opportunities than any other department on campus?
If you have leadership abilities or would like to develop your leadership potential, you might consider applying for a Resident Assistant (RA) or a House Manager (HM) position.
The RA/HM positions are some of the premier leadership positions not only at Western Carolina University, but at schools all over the country. Many celebrities boast of having been Resident Assistants during their college careers (Katie Couric of The Today Show; Jerry O’Connell, actor from Crossing Jordan, Scream, and Stand By Me; Sheryl Crow, singer; Hillary Clinton; and Paul Reiser, actor from Mad About You).
Aside from gaining valuable leadership skills and experience, the RA and HM positions afford you the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of your fellow students.
By becoming a Student Office Assistant or Student Mail Center Clerk, you will gain much experience in public relations, as well as professional office procedures.
