Residential Living for Current Students
We’re pleased that you have decided to continue living with us in the residence halls at Western Carolina University. It is our goal to provide you with a safe, clean, comfortable, and wholesome living environment, while offering a variety of activities that will become a memorable part of your college years.

Living in the residence halls is an integral part of your college career. On-campus living provides students greater opportunities to become involved with the university, to meet and develop relationships with a greater variety of people, and to participate in a living experience that is unique to university life.

Campus life is greatly enhanced by the comforts, conveniences, and experiences that living in a residence hall provides. Studies of college and university students across the country have shown that students who live on campus have higher graduation rates, higher GPAs, and report a greater satisfaction with their collegiate experience.

If you are a graduate student, you have the option of living in Madison Hall.  Each of the thirty-five private rooms is air conditioned and has its own bath. Madison is a 24-hour quiet community and affords its residents 24-hour visitation.

Securing Your Place
To secure your place within the residence halls, you will be utilizing our online system.  In order for our system to recognize you as a user, there are several steps you must first take:
1. You will need to pay the $150 non-refundable housing deposit through OneStop in Killian Annex.

2. After paying your deposit, you will need to click on the “Residence Hall Agreement” link, then print, complete, and submit your Residence Hall Agreement to the Department of Residential Living. Be sure and read all the terms of the Residence Hall Agreement, as this is a legally binding contract. After you have submitted your Agreement, wait three days to allow for processing, and then log in to the system to select your preferences.

While you are waiting for your Residence Hall Agreement to be processed, be sure and check out the residence halls for information on the variety of offerings in the different halls.

3. When you log in to the system to select your preferences, you will also be choosing your meal plan. For this reason, you will want to be familiar with the various meal plan options available to you. You can find information regarding meal plan options for 2008-2009 by visiting the Dining Services website.
