Spring 2008

Western Carolina University Chancellor John W. Bardo presided over commencement exercises for 1,053 students at the university’s Ramsey Regional Activity Center on Saturday, May 10.

A total of 341 undergraduate students received academic honors. Ninety-four graduated summa cum laude (with highest honors), 136 graduated magna cum laude (with high honors), and 104 graduated cum laude (with honors).

Twenty-nine students were designated University Scholars for completing their entire undergraduate careers at Western with grade-point averages of 3.90 or better.
