RN to BSN and RN to MS(N) Programs

RN to BSN

The online RN to BSN track assists registered nurses (RNs) to add value to their basic education, broaden their perspective of current clinical practice, enhance their leadership potential, and prepare for graduate study in nursing by earning a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing.

Students will complete 24 hours of core WCU RN to BSN courses and 8 hours of upper division electives. Part-time study (one 6-hour block at a time) is the norm, perhaps with one elective. Full-time study (two required 6-hours blocks at a time) must be approved by faculty, they will be looking for good academic record and compelling reasons. Students are admitted twice a year and can begin the program in either January or August. While the coursework is entirely online, students are required to attend Orientation and Wrap Day each semester on the AB Tech Enka Campus, headquarters of the WCU RN to BSN Program. Students are also required to complete two clinical course rotations which must be schedule in counties across western North Carolina.

The program can be competed on a part-time basis within two years. You can finish the program in as few as 3 semesters and a summer if given permission to assist on a full-time basis. For additional information about the program, read our FAQs flyer.
