Academic Programs
The Department of Accounting, Finance and Economics offers an engaging and dynamic curriculum for department majors or other students interested in augmenting their studies.

The department’s curriculum focuses on the development of critical thinking and decision-making abilities to help prepare students for the challenges they will face in a wide variety of careers. Depending on your interests, we have a program that will work for you.

Accounting: Pursue a B.S.B.A prepare for a wide range of careers. A minor in accountancy also is offered.

Finance: Pursue a B.S.B.A in Finance in one of two concentrations: banking and financial planning. A minor in banking also is offered.

Economics: The study of economics is excellent preparation for a wide variety of careers. We offer an 18-hour minor, which is open to any WCU student. A major in economics with a business focus is planned for fall 2008 pending approval.

Master of Accountancy (M.Ac.) Program: The M.Ac. program is favored by students interested in a career in public accounting. WCU's M.Ac. courses are offered only in Asheville, on the campus of UNCA.
