Dates & Deadlines
WCU will evaluate each undergraduate freshman and transfer application once your application and other required documents (official transcripts, scores, etc.) have been received by the Admission Office. You must submit your application at least 30 days before the semester you wish to enroll in begins.
In addition, there are admission submission deadlines, decision deadlines and notification dates for freshman early action, freshman “regular” admission, transfer admission, priority consideration, financial aid, and other special submissions. Here are some important dates to bear in mind:
August 1: Freshman and transfer application deadline for the coming Fall Term
August 15: Freshman and transfer application submission for the next year’s Spring, Summer, and Fall Terms opens
August 15: Freshman and Transfer decisions for coming Spring Term begin, upon receipt of all required documents (official transcripts, scores, etc.). Decisions will be mailed when application folder is complete
September 1: International student application deadline for Spring Term
November 15: Freshman Early Action application deadline for next year’s Fall Term. Decisions will be mailed by December 15
November 15: Transfer student application deadline for Spring Term
December 1: Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application becomes available
January 1: First day the FAFSA can be submitted for the following school year
February 1: Priority consideration deadline for freshman for merit-based scholarships.
February 1: First “regular” freshman application deadline for the approaching Fall Term. Decisions to be will be mailed by March 1
March 1: Second “regular” freshman application deadline for coming Fall Term. Decisions to be will be mailed by April 1
March 31: Priority deadline to apply for federal loans and need-based grants
April 1: WCU begins mailing financial aid award notifications
April 1: Deadline for transfers to submit the Supplemental Scholarship Form (PDF)
April 1: International students application deadline for Fall Term
April 1: Priority consideration deadline for transfer students for merit-based scholarships
April 15: Freshman and transfer student summer application deadline
May 1: Priority consideration if application completed by this date. Freshman and transfer tuition deposit submission deadline for coming Fall Term
June 1: FAFSA application due
